Rape = “Sex Romp”?

So, according to the New York Daily News, rape of a trafficked minor is really just a “sex romp.”

Giants player Lawrence Taylor, who was busted having “sex” with a 16 year old in a motel room last year, was today hit with the lowest possible level of sex offender status. Not only was the girl a minor, but she claimed that she was forced into prostitution. See that word? FORCED? Right, me too.

But according to the Daily News, Taylor was guilty of a “sex romp”:

A judge slapped former Giants star Lawrence Taylor with the lowest-level sex offender status Tuesday for his admitted sex romp with a 16-year-old girl.

Taylor was busted last year in a Rockland County motel room with the teen, who said she was forced into prostitution. He pleaded guilty in January and was hit with six years probation.

Way to NOT take rape seriously, Daily News! Rape is never, ever ever a sex romp. Just wanted to clear that up for you.

As if that wasn’t enough:

“Our position is this was a sex trafficking case,” Rockland County Assistant District Attorney Tina Guccione said after the hearing. “People like Mr. Taylor create the market for traffickers.”

Exactly — people like him CREATE THE MARKET for sex trafficking and prostitution. As in, without these assholes, there’d be a lot less demand, and subsequent supply, for victimizing women and girls. And yet, Taylor (and many more like him) gets probation and the lowest level offender status. And many, many times, the girls do jail time — girls who have been sexually exploited and abused.

Where is the justice in that?

There isn’t any. And there certainly isn’t going to be justice so long as reputable news outlets call rape “sex romps”.

  1. There is a big difference between a prostitute and a sex-slave. A prostitute does it with full knowledge of risks. A sex-slave is forced into it.

This CHILD of 16 years was a sex slave. He raped a sex slave. He raped a CHILD. That is NOT a “sex romp”.

And I hope whoever “michellefrommadison” is, her children never end up as sex slaves either. She needs to go and do some research and see that Sex Slavery or Sex Trafficking is a HUGE problem all over the world, yes, even in this precious country, the good ol’ USofA. Children disappear daily from all areas of the country, all ages, all appearances, backgrounds, and social classes.

  2. This is absolutely disgusting, and should be penalized much more strongly than what was reported.

  3. Good for Lawrence Taylor. I think the judge gave him the lenient sentence as a lesson to be learned by the media not to over dramatize court cases like they continue to do. L.T. wins. Maybe the media-heads should talk about their own misconduct instead of looking for a story in the Taylor case. Maybe the tragic death of a victim by a crime committed by Nancy Grace of CNN may hold more people’s attention, especially how Nancy denied she had anything to do with the death she caused, then she paid off the family a couple hundred thousand dollars. L.T. just paid for a prostitute, he didn’t help to end anyone’s life.

    • I hope your children are never forced into protitution

    • There is a word for you. I don’t care right now about Nancy Grace. I am reading THIS article about THIS topic. I will get to that if I choose to.

Now, go get educated and learn about sex trafficking and it’s presence in America. Oh, and look up the words “Prostitute” and “Sex Slave” and “Pedophile”.

I hope your children never end up as sex slaves or raped by a pedophile.

  4. I have a vague idea that the NYDN isn’t exactly considered high-class journalism, but this is ridiculous. I wrote her to express my displeasure.
